Damn Bird Picture

People have been asking me what kind of bird has been making my life hell lately. I snapped this picture the other day while cleaning up the last nest. I know it's the damn bird because he flys away from my porch every time I walk outside and sits in this tree and mean muggs me till I leave. After I took this picture I threw a rock at him. (totally true - my only regret was not hitting my mark)

Damn Bird!

So the Damn Bird came back and built even bigger! Right next to my Damn Bird torture device! By the way I am so mad right now I can barely type this post!

So I made 2 super huge spikey things with deck nails, cardboard and ducktape...  Problem solved!  Nope

The next day Brad announces to me (as I  heard him trying to stifle a giggle) That the bird (Damn Bird) is back and building OVER our FRONT DOOR! Are you kidding me???

This is what was waiting for me as I stepped outside to confirm.

So... I got out my supplies AGAIN and made this very attractive addition to our front door. Not only does our door knocker read "Shepard" But we now have an abundance of ducktape, nails and cardboard to welcome our guests.  (very classy.... I know)

This is what I came back to when I went to the garage to get more supplies... it the equivalent of the Damn Bird giving me his tiny little middle finger.

sigh

Luck!

Dear Andrew Luck...

Welcome to town! You should understand from the beginning we will never love you as much as our beloved Peyton. However.... we need you and are glad you are here. Here's the thing... we are season ticket holders and plan to take our kids to many many games in the future. We would prefer for them not to be painful as it is frowned upon to excessively drink for moms and dads bringing young kids to games.

Thanks for your understanding.

Persistence

The following is a true tale of a girl with too much time on her hands and a stupid a$$ bird.

A bird decided to take up residence on our front porch. I asked Brad to go take care of it... he knocked down the nest.. problem solved! Nope

Bird came back, rebuilt.. I asked Brad to knock down the nest (again).... problem solved! Nope

I take over at this point because that's what I do. I placed a small wash cloth soaked in straight bleach at the scene of the crime.. er nest. (Not very PETA of me I know)... problem solved! Nope

Damn bird didn't care about my bleach, threw down my wash cloth and rebuilt.

So... I soak wash cloth in bleach again and place 3 big rocks on top of it.... problem solved!

NOPE!!!!

So... I made this bird torture devise out of nails and ducktape.... Problem solved??? To be continued....

Notice the bird $hit on my house as he mocks me.

bug catchin'

My sweet babies got some butterfly/bug catching nets from my mom for Easter. They LOVE them... talk about a toy that transcends generations... Parker's net is full of worms, rolly pollys, and your general slug. (gross) Kate just has mulch but was still excited and saying "ewww Mommy Wook!"

I'm so glad these two sweeties have each other to explore, play, fight, and learn about compromise... they really are best friends and I hope it stays that way.

Easter

Easter was all kinds of fun this year... here are 2 kids very anxiously awaiting their baskets.

Trying on new head gear...

Kate has been asking me for a Dora helmet to ride her tricycle.. (gotta like a girl that cares about safety) I think she just knows she is going to get stuck with Parker's old Lightening McQueen bike and at least wants her own helmet. Big hit... she wears it every day-awesome

Checking out the new race track Brad.... I mean Parker wanted. ; )

Out to hunt eggs! Yes she is wearing her helmet... hard telling what could throw down during the hunt.

My Mom, Sister, Brother and Nephew came up for Easter dinner and some visit time... Yes that is my Mom getting her drink on with a Corona.

My mom and Kate playing "princess ball".

So happy for a great day and lots of great memories.

Details

Me and my sweetie girl out for a walk....

Take a look at the first attempt to get this picture. Brad took it and said it "looked fine" on further investigation I see her hat totally in her face and spit up coming out the side of her mouth. MEN!
