Florida Fun

We are back! Our friends Tim and Sarah invited us to go along with them to Naples for a kid friendly vacation. The deal was we would stay in Tim's parents winter home, fantastic 3 bedroom condo, and use their car and their pool for free. Not a hard decision.

I was most nervous about the plane ride but Parker was pretty good considering he is a 16 month old wiggly boy. The arrangement could not have worked out better, we were able to pop down to visit Brad's family as they were only 30 minutes from the condo. We also had built in baby sitters. Each couple was able to enjoy some baby free chillaxing time at the pool and a date night. We also all got to go out on the town together with the help of a hired out sitter.

Parker loved having his buddy declan around and kept pointing at this head to make sure we saw him (declan tolerated this the entire trip.)

This photo was taken on 5th avenue where we enjoyed some cute stores on the way to a fabulous Italian dinner. LOVED IT!

Yes, I know they will both be angry about this later...

Brad's Mom and Dad had a cake and a very nice lunch prepared to celebrate Brad's birthday during our visit. Parker loved their pool and is finally old enough to really enjoy it.

Cute boys at the pool.

Sarah looking like a pro with two kids.... she could totally handle twins.

This is our tired little boy after a day at the pool.

And last but not least... here is our precious little boy throwing a mini tantrum on the airport floor. (sigh - good times)

The trip was GREAT and we are hoping to get another invitation in our future. : )

sweet babble

For the last few days Parker has been really quiet - like he forgot the words he had just recently learned. It finally occured to me that it could be his recent round of ear infections that have caused the silent treatment Brad and I have been getting.

His ears must be getting better because our little babbling brook is back.

One life lesson to take away from this... when you are happy with your accomplishments you really should clap for yourself. (if not, who else will?)

The air conditioner kicks on towards the end of this video and P is trying to figure out what the noise is... he really didn't go into a baby trance.

Mother's Day

For Mother's Day I asked my two best guys to take me to the zoo. Parker has been many times but this is the first time he was actually interested in the animals. We got there right when it opened so it wasn't crowded, and the weather was still cool. (Nothing worse on a prego than the smell of the zoo on a hot steamy day).

Blow this picture up and ck out the action shot Brad got... this should totally be featured on a brochure for Animal Planet... or something.

I got this idea from my sister. I will take Parker's picture in this exact spot every year (and keep it in a super cute zoo frame not yet purchased... so I can take the pictures out at any time and see how he has grown thru the years.

playing outside is fun!

curls be gone

Park-man got his first hair cut this weekend. He looks a little traumatized but actually did a very good job. Much better than I did. Brad was perfectly composed while his little man's locks were cut and thrown to the floor. (Well let's be honest, I had them saved and secured to a first haircut certificate.)

Here is the finished product. I'm really happy with how it turned out. I just wish he didn't look like he was now ready to ride the bus to school. (sigh)

this post is way over due

Brad and I are happy to announce that we are expecting a baby this November! I will do my best to answer the burning questions that are on your mind (yes, some liberty is given here that you have burning questions.)

1. I am 14 weeks along.

2. Due November 3rd for a planned C section - so unless this baby comes really early than that date is money.

3. This pregnancy is much harder than the first. I have no idea if that is because it's a girl or because I have a 16 month old toddler I'm chasing at home.

4. We are not planning on finding out the sex of this baby. Some of our friends think we are doing this specifically to be mean to them... not true. This is more than likely our last baby and we would both like it to be a surprise.

5. We would love for this baby to be a girl because... well we don't have one. We would also love another little boy like Parker because we can't imagine anything better.

Anyhoo.. as you can see I'm already well into the baby developing process (being kind). The dr says it is because there is such a short time between my pregnancies.. we'll go with that. : )

Keep us in your prayers for another uneventful pregnancy and birth.

big boy

This weekend Parker finally figured out what the spoon I hand him at dinner time is used for. It was still VERY messy but he is getting it and is very proud of himself.

He also drank from a cup without a lid on it this weekend. I would have posted a picture but that would just be bragging. : )

Good luck Whitworths!

This past Sunday we had the honor of co-hosting a goodluck cookout for the Whitworths - who are moving to another state this weekend. (Notice I am calling it a Goodluck and not Goodbye cookout).

You will be missed - and we look forward to coming to visit you in your new home!

visit at the park

Last weekend I met my mom, sister, niece Casey and Nephew Zachary at a park close between us. This is the first time Parker could actually play on some of the equipment. My sister and Casey chased p around so I actually got to sit "for once" and enjoy the day.

My sister insisted that Parker was old enough to go down the slide by himself (sigh). We all know he is just a baby and clearly not old enough - however, he did seem to like it.

Yes, this is my baby with a happy meal box on his head. I don't think he is very happy about it. But he was happy about the Mc Goodness that was found inside.
